Fine Soft Furnishings
our new online store offering cushions, throws and other soft furnishings UK wide is now open! Why not take a look?
Why not frame your window with a pelmet or valance? Or make a statement with an arrangement of swags and tails?
Our pelmets are made onto 6mm ply wood (we don't like working with MDF) and covered in 6oz wadding before they are finally covered in the fabric of your choice and trimmed accordingly. From simple shapes to rather more intricate designs, your wish is our command! A pelmet is also a good choice set higher up above a particularly low or wide window to create balance but still allow in plenty of light.
Valances, just like curtains can have any heading imaginable. They can have a shaped lower edge and be trimmed with any of the fantastic trimmings we have available.
Swags and tails are a perennial favourite for elegant, English country house style, but they can also look stunning in a more contemporary setting. The secret is in the choice of fabric. Swags can be draped over poles or set on boards to frame a window beautifully. The combinations and possibilities are endless!
Unlike other companies, we don't make our swags and tails in "standard" sizes, we tailor each design to suit each window, knowing that shape and proportion are key in achieving the desired look. We can also provide to-scale diagrams upon request as more intricate designs are often hard to describe any other way.
