It's always nice to hear back from former clients, and this time was no exception. We made curtains and soft furnishings for their appartment in Ocean Village, Southampton a couple of years previously and now they asked us to quote for their house in Lincolnshire.
When I arrived to carry out the initial survey, the house was most definitely a work in progress! Most of the windows hadn't been installed yet and paint and decor was definitely a thing of the future.
The room featured here had formerly been two, much smaller rooms. The new owners had made the two into one and planned to use it as a nursery for their grandchild's sleepovers and also a Pilates gym. Mirrored, fitted wardrobes were built along one wall, adding further to the sense of space and light in the room whilst also providing plenty of storage.
Our client was looking for a fresh and youthful style in this room, so we made these Roman blinds from two different coordinating fabrics from Clarke and Clarke's Skandia collection, applying wide, coordinating borders to the blinds at the front elevation windows and using the second fabric just as it is on the third, a low dormer window.
The room was painted in fresh white and duck-egg blue, colour matched to the fabric perfectly. The finishing touches to a great dual purpose room.
